Celebrating our lives together in Christ |
Our Sunday School format is now in
its third year using the Workshop
Rotation Model (WoRM). This format teaches major Bible stories
through multimedia workshops, such as art, cooking, drama, music,
games, puppets, and storytelling, The same Bible story is taught in all
of the workshops for four weeks, rotating the children to a different
workshop each week. The model's philosophy recognizes that children not
only love repetition, but also need it to develop a lasting memory and
understanding of content.
The undercroft is called the “WoRM Hole.” Each station also has a name:
arts/crafts/science is the “Creation Corner”;
drama/puppets/storytelling is the “Abundant Life Theater”; games/music
is the “Bible Quest” station; and the cooking station is the
“Disciples’ Diner”. We are again using is Cokebury’s PowerXPress
because of the positive comments from parents, students, and teachers.
The preschoolers will learn from the new “Live Big” curriculum, which
provides a wonderful variety of activities, including DVD lessons, for
our youngest students.
Sunday School will begin on Sunday, September 7, 2008. Class sessions
run from 9:00-9:45 a.m. every Sunday except holidays. ALL children age
three years to sixth grade are welcome to join us! Jesus said
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations . . . " (Matthew
28:19). Any young family member or neighbor child can become an excited
disciple in our program!
